Yuri Lyamin was born in 1954 in Harkov, Ukraine. After a series of art exams, he was admitted to the Repin’s Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg where his advanced art education lasted a full six years. The sixth year was entirely devoted to his diploma work. He graduated from the Fine Art Department of the Repin’s Academy of Arts in 1984 where he majored in oil painting. He is a member of the Artist Union which is considered to be the most elite group of artists in all of Soviet society. Many of his works can be found throughout Russia, Great Britain and Spain. Lyamin regularly participates in various regional, national, and international art shows and exhibitions.
