Nikita Fomin was born in 1948, the son of a well-known landscape painter and Academician Pyotr Fomin. He studied at the Repin Institute graduating in 1973. He later became a member of the Russian Artist’s Union in 1975. Fomin received the Laureate Government Prize of Russia for his paintings and is now a painting professor in Eduard Kachirgin’s theatrical painting studio at the Repin Institute. Over the years, he has participated in over 100 St. Petersburg, All Russian and international exhibitions. Fomin’s works are owned by the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, the Museum of City History in St. Petersburg, the Museum of City History in Moscow, the Communal’s Pinacoteca in Ravenna, Italy as well as private collections in Russia, France, Finland, Italy and the United States. Fomin’s works have been published in various books and journals.
