Olga Fomina was born in 1977 to a rich heritage of St. Petersburg artists. Her mother is Irena Safronova, chair of the Art Department at the Technological Institute. Her father, Nikita Fomin, is a professor at the Repin Academy of Art. Her grandfather, Pyotr Fomin, who died in 1996, was an Academician who taught at the Repin Institute and headed the Repin and Artists’ Union of Russia. Her artistic training began in the Russian tradition. She was trained at the Middle School associated with the Repin and completed four years at the Academy of Art. Fomina has shown her works in St. Petersburg and in the United States. Her work is also in private collections in Russia, France and the United States. She lives in St. Petersburg where she uses her grandfather’s studio.
